Using CBD

Cannabis Hemp Leaf and CBD Oil

Suggested CBD Servings & Usage

This section is intended to provide general information about CBD only - it is not intended to provide medical advice. A doctor’s advice should be sought before using this and any supplemental dietary product. Please refer to each product’s label and direction for more information.

How Should I Start?

We always suggest “to start low and go slow”. According to the “Medical Cannabis Institute,” the recommended average starting CBD dose 10 mg per day (and as low as 2.5 mg) for an individual who has never tried or experimented with cannabis products in the past. Depending on your particular wellness goals, you may adjust to fit your needs.

Servings

CBD serving amounts depend on particular preferences and wellness goals. Start low, go slow, and titrate up. Many individuals start with a low CBD serving of approx. 10 mg per day and adjust up on a weekly basis.

Individuals with specific wellness concerns report experiencing improved results after gradually increasing their servings to fit their goals.

Depending on the product, a full dropper may usually be 1ml, however the amount of CBD in this serving depends on the product strength.

Product Strength

CBD Oil Dose By Dropper
A tincture bottle should display both the total amount of CBD and the weight of the product.
A product's strength (CBD concentration) is determined by the amount of CBD per ml.
A standard 30 ml bottle with 250 mg of CBD, will contain 8.3 mg of CBD in a 1 ml serving (usually a full dropper). A bottle of the same size with 500 mg of CBD, will contain twice the amount of CBD in an equal size serving.

CBD Concentration

If you prefer, you can calculate the exact amount of CBD in a 1ml serving (usually a full dropper) with the formula below:

CBD per 1ml = bottle total CBD (mg) ÷ bottle total weight (ml)

Oral Administration

We suggest for CBD oils/tinctures to be administered sublingually, that is under the tongue and waiting at least 2 minutes before swallowing.

The onset of action for CBD may be as quick as 30 minutes to 3 hours, and its effects may vary depending on metabolism.

When?

It is suggested for first-time users to try CBD during the day to assess for any side effects and to observe how he or she feels.

Depending on particular wellness concerns, a person might use CBD during the day to support general wellness, while another might use CBD at night to help maintain a good night’s rest or to minimize side effects if any.

How Long?

CBD is not a magic bullet. CBD may be needed for a long period of time depending on the reason the individual is using it. Proper CBD use requires consistency, diligence, patience, quality, and proper administration. Many people benefit from CBD as a continuous part of their lifestyle.
